How we teach
You will study the core principles of Ayurveda step by step — Doshas, Agni, Dhatus, food, lifestyle, mind, daily routine and more.
But the focus is not only on learning each topic separately. You will also learn how these principles connect and how to use them when looking at a real situation.
As you progress, the program moves from theory into observation, assignments and client cases. Weekly Q&A sessions give you a place to ask questions, clarify what you are learning and understand why one approach may be appropriate for one person but not another.
The goal is to help you understand Ayurveda well enough to apply its principles thoughtfully and responsibly.
Your teacher
Dr. Hemant Gupta has spent decades studying, practicing and teaching Ayurveda, with over 40 years in Ayurvedic medicine and holistic health.
In this program, students learn directly from that experience: through his teaching, the weekly live Q&A, and later through case discussions. He holds an MD in Ayurvedic Medicine, Surgery and Internal Medicine and a D.N.M. in Natural Medicine, and directs the Holistic Ayurveda Institute and Wellness Centre in Ottawa.

How the learning progresses
Build a strong foundation in the core principles of Ayurveda.
See how concepts such as Dosha, Agni, Dhatu, food, lifestyle and mind relate to one another.
Practice observation, client intake, reasoning and wellness planning through assignments and cases.
Prepare to use what you have learned responsibly, within the appropriate scope of an Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor.
What the program includes
Structured material, regular live contact with your teacher, and people to study alongside.
Lessons are organized in a clear sequence so you know what to study next.
Use recorded lessons to review difficult concepts at your own pace.
Bring questions from your studies and discuss them live.
Connect with other students, share observations, and continue discussions between sessions.
Use assignments and case exercises to practice what you are learning.
After the foundational study, selected client cases can be discussed with Dr. Gupta.
The program is designed so you are not studying complex material entirely on your own.
Four pillars
Study the foundations, physiology, psychology, nutrition, assessment, herbs and lifestyle principles of Ayurveda.
Use observation and simple practices in your own life so the concepts become easier to understand.
Work through client examples and cases, and learn how to organize your observations and recommendations.
For students who want to practice professionally, learn the basics of setting up and running an ethical wellness business.
Curriculum
The 500-hour curriculum begins with the foundations and gradually moves into assessment, diet and lifestyle, herbs, case work, and practical application.
Client case mentorship
Client Case Mentorship With Dr. Gupta
Once students have completed the foundational theory, they begin working through client cases. The purpose is to learn how to organize information, notice patterns, ask better questions, and understand how Ayurvedic principles are applied in real situations.
Selected cases can then be discussed with Dr. Gupta. These discussions help students see how an experienced Ayurvedic physician thinks through a case, and what details may have been missed.
“Case discussion is where students begin to see how the theory works in real life.”
What patterns are we observing?
What is happening with digestion and Agni?
Which qualities and Doshas appear involved?
How are diet, lifestyle and environment contributing?
What is still missing from the picture?
What should be addressed first?
Weekly mentorship
Ayurveda can be difficult to learn from books alone. Weekly Q&A sessions give students a regular place to ask questions, clarify confusing topics, and discuss what they are observing in their studies.
Student community
Students also have access to a private online community. It gives you a place to ask questions, share observations, and stay connected with others who are studying the same material.

Practice & Business Foundations
Many students finish a training program and then realize they have no idea how to begin working with clients or how to set up a small practice. We want to help with that transition.
For students who want to practice professionally, the program includes practical business training covering positioning, simple offers, websites, social media, lead magnets, email, basic funnels, AI tools, scheduling, client management, payments, and simple automation.
“The goal is not to turn practitioners into aggressive marketers. It is to help them explain their work clearly, reach the right people, and run their practice in an organized way.”
Program timeline
This program is for people who want to study Ayurveda seriously and are willing to put time into learning and practice. Students may come from yoga, wellness, massage, health coaching, or entirely different professional backgrounds.
If that describes you, a shorter course may serve you better, and we are happy to say so.
